Aerosol Cans

Most aerosol cans can be recycled in your curbside recycling bin.

Please adhere to the following guidelines to dispose of them properly:

Empty aerosol cans* - should have the plastic top and the small spray nozzle removed and thrown away before placing the rest of the can in your curbside recycling bin.

Aerosol cans with some contents* - should be placed in your curbside trash can. If you are unsure of whether or not your can is empty, bring it to the Hazardous Material Recovery Facility.

Spray paint cans - if they are completely empty they can be recycled like any other empty aerosol can. If there are some contents still in it, or if you are unsure of whether or not the can is empty, bring it to the Hazardous Material Recovery Facility.

*IMPORTANT!*- any can that contained pesticides (regardless of whether it is empty or not) should be brought to the Hazardous Material Recovery Facility. There is no fee for this.
