Where can I get rid of my excess cardboard?

Cardboard should be placed inside the building through the yellow residential drop-off window during recycling hours.  It is illegal to place material outside the building or outside normal recycling hours. Violators will be fined.

Where can I dispose of my TVs, computers, electronics and microwaves?

TVs, computers, electronics and microwaves are banned from the landfill and need to be disposed of through electronic collectors including the Brown County Hazardous Material Recovery Facility. A fee will apply for disposal.

Where can I get rid of paint?

We accept latex and oil based paint along with stains, sealers, varnishes, etc.  There is a fee to dispose of latex (water based) paint.  However, if your latex based paint container is completely empty or dry it can be thrown in the garbage.  Oil based paint, stains, sealers, varnishes, etc. should be brought to the Hazardous Material Recovery facility for disposal.

 

Paint and other material brought in by residents is available for pick up two days a week.  There is no cost to pick up material from the product exchange room.  However, there is no guarantee as to what colors, material will be available each day.

Any item containing Freon should be brought to the Waste Transfer Station for proper disposal.  There is a $15 fee for any item containing Freon.  If your item does not contain Freon anymore you must have a Freon disposal certificate to waive the fee.
