Plastic bags cannot be recycled through your curbside bin.  Single use plastic bags are a significant maintenance and repair issue for the Tri-County Materials Recovery Facility where recyclables that are collected curbside are brought for sorting.  Plastic bags are very recyclable, but only if they are kept out of your curbside bin and brought to a local retail store.  The City of De Pere has compiled a list of retail locations that accept plastic bags, which can be found at their website.
